3) Webroot SpySweeper sells for $30 and includes these features:

· Very little if any false positives.
· Easy to operate.
· Outstanding support feature including 1800 number. You can send support the results of scan in instances where the process of removal would be too complicated for the present program, and they will figure out a process to fix the problem.
· Built in help.
· Email support.
· Lists found spyware.
· Indicates severity of danger of spyware found.
· Scans can be scheduled.
· Free updates.
· Limited function free trial version available.

4) Adaware free version and Adaware Pro with Real-time Protection sells for about $40, has the following features:

· Lists spyware found and desriptions.

5) Spybot Search and Destroy offers limited protection and is available free. It has the these features:
· Quite easy to operate.
· Effectiveness is good.
· Has built in help option.
· Email support is not available.
· Includes irregular software updates.
· Does list spyware found.
· Does indicate the severity of infection.
· Does have schedule scanning.
· Does look for key loggers.
· Completely free version.
· Works on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP.
· Does not work on Macintosh

The five anti-spyware programs discussed in this report are some of the better ones available on the market today.

The ones that do not have automatic updates need to be kept manually updated for them to work correctly. If they do not have scheduled scans available you would also need to do these. In order to maintain Always-On Protection that is is set-and-forget simple- We recommend XoftSpySE and ParetoLogic AntiSpyware.

These options could be a big deal for someone who will not keep up with them. If you can do them your self effectively then it would not create any problems. The main thing is to find one you like and to use it all the time. Spyware is a big problem maker that can be avoided with the proper software package!
