There are many types of computer errors, some are more harmful than
others and some are easier to get rid of than others. On the other
hand, some things that may seem like problems are actually symptoms
of other errors that you cannot see and have no other way to be
aware of. These perceived ‘problems’ are actually warning signs, so
that you can keep further harm from coming to your PC. One of these
‘problems’ is the blue screen.
What is really happening when you get that blue screen on your
computer?
The blue screen this is sometimes called the blue screen of death.
That is perhaps an over exaggeration but, no matter how you look at
it, a fatal error occurred on your system and that blue screen is
telling you exactly what has happened.
The first thing you should do when this happens is to actually read
your computer screen. You will see and error code, explanation, and
an error number. If you do not understand the message you are seeing
– and they can be fairly cryptic – then you need to restart your
computer, go online to Microsoft.com, and lookup the error code.
This will give you a detailed explanation of the problem, why it
occurred, and what you can do about it.
Possible causes of a blue screen
This blue screen is caused by a stop error in Windows. The most
common causes of this are poorly written or corrupted device
drivers, bad memory or a memory conflict causing a crash, a damaged
registry, or conflicting dll’s. In Windows versions 95,98, and ME
you may also get a message stating that there was a virtual device
driver crash and it will give you the option to restart your
computer. The blue screen is basically just a symptom that tells you
something has gone wrong. It happens more often on earlier versions
of Windows, but no matter when it happens – it is a sign that you
computer is in need of some attention.
What to do when you get a blue screen
The first thing you should do is try to determine the cause of the
error. On older systems, there may have been too many windows open
at once or too many programs running simultaneously. On newer
systems this should not be a problem; however if you frequently see
that blue screen, it is time for intervention. Determining the cause
of the error is critical. After you have done your homework and
researched the error codes, you should have a better idea of what
went wrong. It is also possible that you have no idea of what
Microsoft was telling you on their website. To a novice user, all of
that technical mumbo jumbo means nothing. So what then?
Getting outside help
A registry repair software program, like Regcure, is a good
investment of both time and money. As stated above, one of the most
common causes of the appearance of the dreaded blue screen is a
damaged or corrupted registry. A program that can quickly scan your
registry for problems, backup the registry before making changes,
and then fix the problems is something that everyone should have on
their system.
The importance of running a registry repair program
Let’s examine why you should use a registry repair program. Take for
example an older system running Windows 2000. The system is 7 years
old and if the registry has never been cleaned, it will be huge.
There could be 100,000 entries or more. Every once in a while, the
blue screen appears with a message about conflicting dll’s. To
resolve this problem, you would have to manually scan through the
registry and the computer for all possible dll’s and then look for
possible conflicts, which could take even the most experienced
person weeks. There will be pages and pages of dll’s and, after a
while, they all look the same. This is why even the experts use
registry repair software to scan their registries. It is simply
faster and more efficient than any human can be.
A scan of the above mentioned computer will show many bad registry
entries. There will be invalid file paths, incomplete and unused
registry keys, corrupted registry entries, and a whole host of other
problems. RegCure will be able to alert you to all of the problems
listed above. If you are comfortable at making the correct decision
as to what should be deleted and what should not, then you can
manually make those choices. However, if you are like the average
computer user, the idea of changing the registry may scare you to
death, because you are unsure of what should be there but you have
enough knowledge to know an incorrect change could spell disaster.
RegCure takes the guess work out of this process. You critical
system files will be safe, no matter what you do, because theis
quality program knows that they belong on your computer and will
never delete a critical system file. You will feel safe eliminating
all of the trouble making files/registry problems automatically.

- If by some chance you need to
restore the registry back to where it was, that can be easily
accomplished. The best way to avoid seeing the blue screen and its
plethora of error messages is to keep your registry free and clear
of problems.
