The highlight of DVD Cloner IV is that it comes equipped with CSS decryption codes for backing up your commercially-made, copy-protected DVDs. This is one of the few DVD backup programs that don’t require you to purchase additional decryption software like DVD Decrypter or AnyDVD to break your DVD copy protections.

DVD Cloner IV also features a DVD Fix mode for making “more or less” restored copies of your damaged DVDs. This is a really useful feature to have for some of those old DVDs you’ve got thrown around the house without the cases.

We tried copying one of our otherwise unwatchable damaged DVDs using the DVD Fix mode. Although DVD Cloner IV did not completely restore the damage, it reduced the skips substantially and made the DVD more or less watchable. Keep in mind this was a disc we thought was beyond repair. We imagine DVD Cloner IV would do a pretty good job of restoring DVDs that have minor damage.

DVD Cloner IV gives you the option to either make exact 1 to 1 copies of your DVDs, compress large DVD copies so that they fit on one disc, or split up your large DVDs into several discs. You can set up the DVD Cloner IV software to automatically identify the format of your DVD and adjust the compression accordingly.

The software is very flexible in terms of extra features. With DVD Cloner IV, you can select among multiple languages for your DVD backups, adjust the subtitle options, determine the audio quality of your copied DVDs, and choose whether to display additional menu options.
DVD Cloner IV works with most DVD burners and virtually all home DVD players. It also allows for burning DVD copies onto dual-layer blank DVD discs (DVD-9) so that there's no need for compression or eliminating bonus features. To use this option, however, you must own a DVD burner that supports dual-layer DVD burning.

Another great feature of DVD Cloner IV is its ability to convert your DVD movies to AVI, MPEG, and SVCD video formats. This way you can store and view your movie collection on your computer.
