MyMusic Inc. Review

Are you tired of having to pay 99 cents for every song that you want to listen to? Or what about those recurring monthly charges for internet radio stations?

Some of those can prove to be quite pricey and you still can only influence what music you get to hear; you can’t pick the actual songs.

File trading continues to gain popularity across the world. For one low price, you can download software and then have access to unlimited music, movies, games and more. My Music Inc is a company that offers exactly that kind of software. Once you are a member, you are able to access all the free music and movies that you ever wanted. But how much does it cost and how do they measure up to all of the other competing companies out there? Before choosing any downloading site, you should take the time to ensure that you’re getting what you’re paying for.

My Music Inc advertises that they are the largest file trading network “on the planet.” Putting themselves up against such music-related sites as Napster, realRhapsody, iTunes, and more, they do appear to have some definite bonuses that many of the others, even the popular sites, don’t cover. Some examples of these would include the ability to burn unlimited CDs, that there are no monthly recurring charges, they include movie and video game downloads and, as opposed to Napster’s 1 million, or AOL Music’s 2 million tracks, My Music Inc offers 12 million available tracks.

While some download sites will boast how fast they are, compared to other mystery services, My Music Inc actually gives you a chance to compare and offers up that they are 150% faster than Kazaa. But while your downloads may zip along, you’re probably wondering just what is available for download. After all, a music site can only be as good as their music, right?

My Music Inc claims to have the largest collection of music that is available, from all across the world. Every type of music style is also represented, from country to techno. Whether you like modern rock, latin, classical or hip hop, My Music Inc claims they have it, in addition to newly released movies, lots of video games and, believe it or not, you can even download software such as anti-virus programs and Adware removers.

My Music Inc’s software is compatible with Macintosh and AOL, but Mac users be warned that they do carry less programs for Mac as opposed to regular PCs. They do, however, claim that they offer the latest music and movie downloads for the Mac and they do have the best programs available. Mac users may wish to question this, more in-depth, just to be safe.

Ever tried to open a file, only to discover that the current media player you had wasn’t able to play it? It’s frustrating to have to go through and download all those different players, especially when you know you’ll rarely use the majority of them. My Music Inc realizes this and, while they provide free copies of all leading media players to their users, they recommend using Windows Media Player (Version 7+) to playback downloaded tracks.

This company seems to have a lot going for it and sounds really good, right up until the moment that you go to sign up. Before they offer to tell you the price, My Music Inc wants you to reveal your name and email address. While this serves its purpose to the company, for many wary buyers, it signals spam alert and puts them on edge. Furthermore, when one gets past the phobia and actually gets to the prices, they discover that, although the lifetime membership may seem like an awesome value, they charge an additional fee, on top of that, if you want to upgrade to a movie package.

If you try and back out of the sales page, you are greeted by a pop up window that claims itself to be a live chat and asks you to Wait! “Greg” then proceeds to tell the user the cost of the program once again and informs one to type “hello” or “hi” in the box so they know you are there. Ironically, considering this claims to be a live chat, it’s the same conversation that he will offer you if you close the window and try again. It’s a sly little trick but, then again, much of the website that lays beyond the front page has this same feeling.
