Chkdsk
Description – Windows CP contains a disk checking facility that can help to identify problems with the hard drive of your computer. It can also optionally be used to fix any errors that it does find. It is recommended that users, especially heavy computer users, run this function on a fairly regular basis because it can identify problems early before they further manifest themselves in your system and cause greater problems. Associated Errors – The CHKDSK function is a command line function that can be run manually and is both quick and easy to use. If your PC is displaying an unusually large number of error messages or you are experiencing errors or a slowing of your system then it is recommended that this be one of the first steps you take on the road to hard disk recovery. Failing hard drives can cause problems in a number of ways. As well as an increasing number of error messages and errors you may also experience corrupt or damaged files and settings as well as a loss of data. If the hard drive fails completely it can be difficult or even impossible to recover this data in the future. It is best to act before serious problems occur in order to avoid the complete loss of data. Recommended Solution – CHKDSK can be run manually using the command prompt. In order to do this click the Start button and select the Run option. Type “cmd” (without the “”) and press enter to bring up the command prompt screen. In order to check a drive for errors without fixing the problems type the following and click enter. This example assumes that you want to check the C drive of your computer: chkdsk c: CHKDSK will run through 3 steps and report its findings once complete. In order to fix any problems CKDSK finds you should add the /f parameter so that you would enter the following and press enter chkdsk c: /f If you are attempting to check a disk that is currently in use you will be asked if you want to check when you next reboot the system. Click y and press enter and CHKDSK will check the disk and fix the problems when you next restart the computer.

I love RegCure. I was telling my sister
in law, how, since I downloaded your program, I have had little to no
problems with my computer. Everyday, about six times a day I used to receive
a message that said Virtual Memory is too Low. Now it's fine and my
computer runs faster too. Cyril S.
