Description – exe, or executable, files are unreadable by the human eye but once passed through a compiler or assembler they are executed by the computer in order to run an application or snippet of code. Applications generally come with at least one executable file that runs the main program on the desktop of your computer. It is possible to view a list of exe processes that are currently running on your computer as well as a list of processes that are scheduled to start every time you log onto your PC. These startup processes are used by applications and by the operating system itself to run necessary scripts when you do log on or to provide the functionality of a specific application as soon as you turn on your PC. Some exe processes are valid startup processes and should be left to run on startup while others should definitely be discouraged because they are either system resource hogs or potential malware. When exe errors occur it is highly unlikely that you will be able to take advantage of the exe file in question. Either this is because it is not a genuine process, and in fact belongs to a spyware or virus application, or because it has become corrupt in some way. Associated Errors – Potential errors are widely varied and depend on the file and process themselves, as well as the reason for the error. With spyware and viruses it could just be the tip of a very big and dangerous iceberg that needs immediate investigation. Some exe errors may prevent you from accessing applications, files, settings, or even your operating system. In these cases immediate action is obviously required. Recommended Solution – Try to regularly check the list of exe processes that are running on your system at any given time. This is a particularly important step if you are noticing a marked drop in system performance or you are experiencing a greater than normal level of error messages. Use the Windows startup process manager or a third party startup manager in order to determine the programs that want to be run when you first start your PC. This can be a good way to identify any threats that demand immediate removal. Registry cleaners, antispyware, and antivirus applications can help to prevent exe errors as well as try to fix them. Run them regularly and use any resident protection or regular scanning that these applications offer to provide your system with an extensive level of support and protection.
I love RegCure. I was telling my sister
in law, how, since I downloaded your program, I have had little to no
problems with my computer. Everyday, about six times a day I used to receive
a message that said Virtual Memory is too Low. Now it's fine and my
computer runs faster too. Cyril S.
