How to fix flash player errors

Description Flash player is a utility from Adobe that enables users to view certain types of online media. Popular content based sites such as YouTube, in particular, use Flash videos and without the latest, clean version of Flash player on your system it is typically not possible to view this content.

Many websites use Flash animations and videos in order to generate more compelling, dynamic web content. Without the Flash Player it is not possible for surfers to view these elements of the appropriate web pages. Similarly, with older versions of Flash Player installed there may still be some access issues with your PC.

Fortunately, Flash Player is free and can be readily downloaded from the Flash website. Installation can, in itself, cause problems on some machines with numerous errors cropping up that prevent the proper installation of the player. Again, this means an inability to view Flash based online content.

Associated Errors Typical errors can be categorized according to when they occur as well as why they occur. Installation errors, as you might expect, are errors that occur during the installation of the player. Many of these will be immediately evident with error messages popping up before installation is complete but some may not surface until you attempt to use the software. Some installation attempts may also be corrupt or damaged before they have chance to complete.

Version errors are errors being caused by attempting to use the incorrect version of Flash player on your computer. Adobe creates and releases new versions of the Flash Player software that include extra features and updates. Some of these upgrades are only accessible if you have the appropriate version of Flash Player installed.

Access errors can be evident for a number of reasons. Security software installed on your system may be preventing access, or your browser settings may be prohibiting the display of Flash animations on your website.

All of these issues can typically be worked around quickly and relatively simply. Bear in mind that an error with a specific website or web page may be the fault of the website owner, rather than a fault with your installation or your system.

Recommended Solution Ensure that the latest version of Flash player is installed on your PC. Visit the Adobe website and download and install the latest version on your system. If you already have a version of Flash installed then you should uninstall this cleanly from your system before you begin. On completion of installation restart your computer and try viewing the Flash content again. This not only ensures you have the latest version but can fix corrupt files or corrupt installations.

Ensure that your browser is enabled so that you can view Flash files. This is typically done through the Tools menu and with the Options or Internet Options selection. Different browsers may use different names and settings. In Internet Explorer, once you have clicked the Internet Options selection ensure that you are viewing the Security tab and highlight the Internet Zone. If you use the slider to enable and disable settings then ensure this is at medium setting. Alternatively click on the custom button and ensure that Run ActiveX is enabled.
