Description – nv4_dsp.dll is a process that belongs to the drivers for Nvidia graphics card and other graphics card with similar properties. There are a number of different versions of the file available and most problems are commonly associated with having an old or incorrect version of the dll file installed on your system. Other reasons have been identified for errors associated with this including a conflict between the graphics card and certain versions of Windows XP but, again, this is typically because users have not downloaded the latest updates and patches from the Windows website for their Windows operating system. Associated Errors – It is extremely common to experience what has become known as the Blue Screen Of Death or BSOD with errors related to nv4_dsp.dll. Once this occurs it is impossible to gain access to your computer without restarting it. It is also typical for the BSOD and associated nv4_dsp.dll errors to appear at specific times when using your computer, for example when attempting run a graphics intensive game or application. Recommended Solution – Restart your computer and do not open any applications. Uninstall your graphics card and then reinstall using the drivers and files from the graphics card software disk. Once complete update all of these files from the manufacturer's website to the latest versions. Also ensure that you have installed any Windows updates that may exist. Once completed restart your computer again and all should be well.
