How to repair Win32 errors Description – When developers create Windows based applications meant to run on Windows 95, 98, or NT machines they use the win32 API (Application Program Interface). This is essentially a collection of dll and system files that can be used to call certain settings, and ensure that programs can run effectively on Windows machines. Associated Errors – Win32 errors are commonly displayed when a system file within an older Windows environment is missing, invalid, corrupt, or incorrect. Typically it means that access to the program, file, application, or feature that you are attempting to access will be denied. The Win32 error you receive may include details of a missing dll or sys file, indicating that the Windows system is missing essential components. It may be possible to download and install these manually or in the worst case scenario you may need to uninstall and reinstall the Windows operating system. Recommended Solution – The simplest and hopefully most effective method for resolving your Win32 errors is to download and install a missing file for the Windows API. If you are faced with an error message that states Windows cannot access a particular dll or sys file or a similar message then this will hopefully be the most effective result. Failing this, you can run a registry cleaning and fixing application. These scour your system to determine any missing or corrupt and essential files. As a final resort you can attempt to repair Windows or reinstall it. Both these tasks are done by booting your system from the Operating System boot disk. In order to repair an installation first select install and then let the disk find an existing version of Windows on your system and opt to repair this installation. Alternatively, if this has failed, then you should choose the clean install option, which will overwrite any existing instance of Windows.
