ParetoLogic Spam Controls Application And Other Features
ParetoLogic Spam Controls is an anti spam and phishing prevention application that effectively integrates into your existing system. As well as being installed as a separate application, Spam Controls installation also adds a toolbar and spam folder to your email client. Compatible with both Outlook and Outlook Express, this toolbar is a vital facet of spam prevention using the Spam Controls program. The toolbar enables users to quickly and easily mark emails as spam or not spam and it also allows for the quick purging of the Spam Controls folder as well as many more options.
ParetoLogic – The ParetoLogic button will open your default web browser and navigate to the license renewal or purchase page of ParetoLogic. If you are currently using the free trial version then this will enable you to purchase a brand new license key. Alternatively, if you already have a license then this page can be used for renewing your existing license or upgrading to a license for a greater number of computers. The ParetoLogic website is also a good source of information if you are having any problems or you have any questions.
Scan – Spam Controls works in the background of your PC and is always on. However, should you wish to run a manual scan then the Scan button will do just that. Highlight the folder you wish to scan and then click this button. Spam Controls will not only scan the main folder you have highlighted but also any sub-folders that are within this folder.
Spam/Not Spam – When browsing the emails in Outlook or Outlook Express clicking the Spam button will mark the currently highlighted email as having spam content. This will also provide you with the option of adding the sender of the email to your Block List and reporting the email and sender directly to ParetoLogic. When you highlight a spam email that is located within the Spam Controls folder the button will change to Not Spam. Clicking this will move the email to your Inbox and provide you with the opportunity of removing the sender from your Block List if they are currently in there.
Purge – The PL Spam Controls folder can become filled with unnecessary spam, especially if you receive a lot of these emails. When this happens your email client may begin to run slowly. If you have not set up a schedule to routinely purge the emails from this folder into your Deleted Items folder then this button will let you manually purge the emails. All email is removed from the Spam Controls folder and placed in the Trash or Deleted Items folder instead. You will, if you have not disabled this feature, be asked to confirm your action.
Block Sender/Remove From Block – As well as sending emails to the Spam Controls folder this button gives you the power to add a sender's email address to your Block List. Once in the Block List any emails from that sender will be automatically treated as being spam and forwarded directly into the spam folder. If you have highlighted an email whose recipient is already in your Block List then the button will appear as “Remove From Block” and clicking it will remove the sender's address from the Block List of your Spam Controls application.
Allow Sender/Remove From Allow – When you receive emails that do not appear to be spam they will be placed in the Inbox of your email application. However, any future emails from this person will still be scanned and may be deemed as being spam. Clicking the Allow Sender button will place the sender of an email into your Allow list ensuring that all future email communication from that person is delivered safely to your Inbox. If you have highlighted an email from somebody already in your Safe list then this button will be replaced with a Remove From Allow button and clicking it will remove the sender from the Allow List.
Options – Clicking the Options tab will open the main ParetoLogic dashboard on the Options page. In the options page it is possible to customize the way that ParetoLogic operates. You can set up a schedule so that emails are purged on a regular basis and it is also possible to disable or enable the dialog boxes that are displayed through the course of using Spam Controls.
Help – The Help button opens the Spam Controls help center where there are various articles and tutorials to help you use the Spam Controls application and other features efficiently and accurately. If you are having any problems with the application or are struggling where to find certain features then use this button and the Help system to find the answers you are looking for.
