The Impact Of Data Loss

Data loss has massive impact on businesses around the world. It is estimated that American businesses alone suffer financial loss of nearly $15 billion every single year through loss of data. The problem isn’t reserved solely for the large corporations either. Approximately one third of all computers will suffer one or more episodes of data loss in the coming twelve months making it one of the most costly, irritating, but avoidable and now recoverable issues computer users face.

Despite the constant warnings to store and back up data regularly many of us fail to do it. The auto-save function on spreadsheets, databases and other office applications simply isn’t enough. Over three quarters of all data loss incidents are caused by hardware malfunctions or serious system crashes; even auto-save can’t help in most of these cases. Human error is responsible for approximately 10% and generally includes the deletion of incorrect files; again this is a problem that can’t be solved through regular saving. The answer, then, is to make a regular backup to a remote source, but how many of us actually have the resource or, indeed, wherewithal to remember to run a back up every month, every week, or every day?

Problems With Remote Backup

Remote backup can be run to CD or DVD but it generally takes hours to run this kind of backup. Zip or flash drives may prove useful but need to hold a lot of data to be able to back up most computers. Even personal computers hold a lot of important information. Personal letters may not take up much space on your hard drive or on a backup disk but digital photos or digital video footage is another matter entirely.

Few People Concern Themselves With Regularly Backing Up Files

Many businesses fail to implement adequate backup plans for when data is lost or damaged, so it is unlikely that the average home user does the same. Does this mean that the information lost on a home computer is any less important than that lost in an office? In many ways it is just as damaging, especially if you work from home or run your own business. According to the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington over 90% of companies that lost their data for 10 days or more filed for bankruptcy within 12 months.

Advancing Technology Has Made Matters Worse

Despite the advance of technology, the problem is certainly not improving. In fact, as hackers and virus programmers become more and more sophisticated the average user is placed at even more risk of losing their data. Yet we use the computer for much more than we ever have. Home shopping, storing and sending personal photographs and working from home are all common everyday practices that we conduct from our home computer, and all of the files concerned with these actions are at risk if we don’t regularly back them up.

Even viruses and Spyware that do not directly damage or delete files can lead to the same effect. Often to completely remove a virus and its traces we are forced to delete files or folders. When doing so, it is not that uncommon to delete necessary files without really paying much heed to what we are deleting. Many people are under the mistaken belief that if a file is infected then it must be a file we don’t need.

The Advance Of Data Recovery Procedures

Whatever the cause of data loss it is a huge problem and until fairly recently it was one that attracted unwieldy and generally unrealistic prices to remedy. In some circumstances it was impossible to recover any of the data lost, and while it is sometimes still impossible the chances of recovery are far greater than they have ever been. There are a number of data recovery software packages available that claim to be able to restore lost information and lost data. None, however, offer the same combination of power and affordability as ParetoLogic Data Recovery.

Do-It-Yourself Is Dangerous

Attempting to recover the data yourself can often lead to more damage. Short of a simple check of the deleted items folder there is very little that can be done manually to find or restore missing files. By scouring through system files and the Windows registry there is a very real chance that you could make the damage a lot worse than it already is.

Traces Of Deleted Files

It is surprising to many that Windows does not completely delete files. Even when you “permanently” delete files from the recycle bin it is highly unlikely that Windows has completely cleared the file from your system. In terms of privacy this has caused concern for some people, but in terms of data recovery it offers a little light at the end of the tunnel. Because Windows still has records of the files in question it means that they can be reconstructed if done properly. This is how the ParetoLogic Data Recovery application works.

Rebuilding Windows References

If the Windows reference to a particular file remains in tact after deletion then ParetoLogic Data Recovery can rebuild the link to the deleted file and restore it. You really would be surprised at exactly how often this turns out to be the case. Obviously, anything that still resides in the recycle bin is easy game for anyone to recover but ParetoLogic Data Recovery goes way beyond restoring the recycle bin.

Beyond The Recycle Bin

Not all deleted or lost files go into the recycle bin. If you have suffered a hardware failure or your system has become corrupted then it is unlikely that files you have lost will be found in the recycle bin. They haven’t been properly deleted and this cuts down your opportunity to restore the file. ParetoLogic Data Recovery really can restore any file that has been emptied from the recycle bin as well as those that have never been in there.

Beating Malicious Software

Because of the way ParetoLogic Data Recovery scans for information it can also recover files that have been deleted due to virus attacks and Spyware attacks. This has become an increasingly common problem for business and personal users but it has been a problem that most data recovery programs struggle to fix. Not any more.

The Power Of ParetoLogic Data Recovery

ParetoLogic Data Recovery performs a low level scan. This means that it searches your PC at a very deep level to find any documents or files you’ve lost. It does this by looking specifically for the structure of the file and then working accordingly. While this sounds complex and potentially difficult to control, this isn’t the case. ParetoLogic Data Recovery is a powerful data recovery tool but without the complex procedures you might otherwise be expecting.

Because of the low level scanning and the use of file structure searching ParetoLogic Data Recovery is one of the most powerful data recovery tools available on the market. Few other applications can perform as well and certainly not for the same cost. If you have lost data of virtually any sort and because of many different reasons you will be able to restore it using the simple ParetoLogic Data Recovery application. Absolutely no in-depth knowledge or technical skill is required because the process involves just three simple and quick steps. Download ParetoLogic Data Recovery

Scan And Recovery Types

There are four types of search and recover you can use with ParetoLogic Data Recovery:

The Fast Scan

The fast search locates any files that have only recently been deleted. As with all the scans, the amount of time it takes to complete will vary greatly depending on the size of the drive being scanned and the speed of your computer. In general, though, a fast scan will take minutes to complete. This is the best place to start for any loss of data and it could be possible to have your files back on your computer very soon.

The Advanced Scan

The complete or Advanced scan recovers file and folder names of all recently deleted files. As well as being capable of discovering recently deleted items a full scan can also find items that are not identifiable or found in the Windows Registry. These files will be returned with a generic name. This is a powerful scan that can find all types of files and will take between one and three hours, again depending on the size of the drive you search and the speed of your computer. It is advised that if you want to find Media files then you should perform this task separately because these files generally take longer to find.

The Fast Format Recover

The fast format recover is perfect if you have lost data since formatting a drive. It also works in cases where a drive has become corrupt for any reason. All files are displayed with full file and folder name facilitating a simple recognition of exactly what you are looking for. Because of the complexity of this search it can take up to three hours to complete if you have a slow computer or if the formatted drive is particularly large.

The Full Format Recover

The full format recover is exactly that. If you’ve formatted your hard drive and have since reinstalled the Windows operating system then this is the choice for you. A full recover will take longer but this can be sped up by only choosing the file types selected by default. Once the recovery is complete, old partitions will be restored and you will be able to find the file or files that you have lost.

Choosing The Right Drive

Selecting the appropriate drive couldn’t be simpler. All you need do is select the appropriate drive from the list of mounted media or unmounted media: hard drives, disk drives, flash drives, USB drives, and other drives. The only time this isn’t possible is when working with a formatted drive. Look for the appropriately unlabeled drive that is of the appropriate size and select this. All other drives should be labeled with the letter you use to identify your drives.

Choosing The Right Area to Scan

Next, select the area you wish to scan. This is particularly important if you are looking for one or a small number of files. By ensuring you don’t select inappropriate areas you can usually shorten the amount of time it takes to complete the scan of your system and it will also make it easier for you to identify the file you are looking for. There are over 200 different file types that are recoverable using ParetoLogic Data Recovery but to ensure that the scan runs quickly and accurately you should attempt to minimize your selections, especially when running a fast or complete scan.

Using Default File Types With A Format Recover

A format recover literally restores the entire drive to how it was prior to formatting so it isn’t necessary to work through and select the appropriate types of file to look for.

Interpreting The Results

Once the scan has completed you will be given the results in associated file type collections. Files of the same file type are grouped together and by clicking on the file type you are particularly interested in you can view the appropriate files. If files have been written over then there is unlikely to be any way to recover the file. However, in most cases you will be able to perform a full recovery. All that’s left is to select the files you want to restore and click save.

ParetoLogic Data Recovery offers both a regular version a pro version (with email recovery) and a free scan version. The free version allows you to complete a scan to see the files that can be recovered but doesn’t enable you to perform the save or recovery action. If you are looking for a file recovery program because you have recently lost or deleted files then this is the perfect opportunity to see whether ParetoLogic Data Recovery can help ease your woes.

Specific File Type Examples

Remember that ParetoLogic Data Recovery can scan, discover, and restore over 200 different file types. This means there is a very reasonable chance that whatever you have lost can be easily restored saving you heartache and potentially large amounts of money. Windows Office files can be restored, as can media files including digital photographs and even digital video files. Even deleted emails are retrievable so you never have to lose vital information regardless of what’s happened to cause the loss in the first place.

Zipped or compressed files have been known to cause problems for many data recovery programs but not with ParetoLogic Data Recovery. If there are any zip files to be recovered then they will be displayed in the same way as other files. By selecting a particular zip file you can then view the contents within the preview window. These contents include the file name, the modified date, the file size and more. Because you can scan your computer using just the free version this means that you can view these results before you pay for the program and recover your compressed files.

Other files that can be recovered include pdf documents, DWG files, tax files, Photoshop, and even external flash drives such as from a video camera. The possibilities are limited only by the types of file you have lost or deleted.

ParetoLogic Data Recovery Costs Less Than The Potential Cost Of Lost Data

For a single PC, it costs just $39.99 to purchase the ParetoLogic Data Recovery software, which is a lot less than the potential cost of never recovering your files in the first place. The PRO version costs slightly more, $10 more at the time of this review. It can either be downloaded directly from the website. The most efficient and practical method is to try the free scan and find out if you are able to recover your lost files and then purchase the unlock code. This is entered by selecting the enter registration key in the help menu.

ParetoLogic Data Recovery And Data Loss Conclusions

Data recovery is a huge problem for those that have faced it. The figures are alarmingly surprising with one third of all computers set to face a data loss occurrence in the next twelve months. Whereas results have previously been poor yet expensive using professional data recovery companies this is no longer the case. ParetoLogic Data Recovery is more than just affordable especially compared to the price of permanently losing files. The application is also very simple to use and a scan and recover can be completed in just three intuitive steps.

Because of the wide level of file support and the low level scanning, ParetoLogic Data Recovery can restore files and folders and even restore the partition in a hard drive where other applications and services tend to fail. The purchase of a single license means you never have to worry about losing your information or important files again. It’s impossible to put a price on that kind of recovery capability.
