Summary: SpyBlast is an adware application that poses a threat to personal computers, a real annoyance actually. It is best to remove this application since it will slow your computer's performance and is of no benefit to you.

Details: SpyBlast is a software application that falls into the family of adware. The program itself claims to track and remove adware, Malware, and spyware, when in fact it does not. The SpyBlast program indicates that it is a blocker of Malware, spyware, and adware, when in fact it is not. Instead, SpyBlast will generate pop up advertisements that will periodically appear on the user’s screen. Rather than detect invasions, it produces them.

Adware is a form of software application that displays advertisements on an individual’s computer whenever the program is running. Adware typically makes use of pop up windows or a pop up bar to display their advertisements. Adware commonly tracks browser use in order to target advertisements to the individual computer user.

Typically, SpyBlast will auto start upon the starting of your computer. It will remain active as long as there is an Internet connection actively working on your computer. In order to stop SpyBlast from running, you will need to remove the program and all of its files from your computer.

Prior to actually removing any Malware, spyware, or adware from your computer, it is advisable to back up any important files that you have saved on your computer. Manual removals are sometimes difficult or ineffective to use.

In order to rid yourself of this unwanted guest, you will need to remove the SpyBlast process, spyblast.exe. Additionally, you will need to remove the SpyBlast registry values: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoftwindows\ currentversion\runspyblast

You will also need to delete the following two files: spyblast.exe and license.rtf.

To remove SpyBlast manually, you will need to complete the following set of instructions if the operating system in your computer is Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows NT, or Windows XP in the classic view:
- Click start, which is located in the lower left corner of your screen.
- Click on the word ‘settings’.
- Click on the phrase ‘control panel’.
- Next, double-click on the icon for the add/remove programs.
- Now you will need to select the entry for SpyBlast.
- Next, you will need to click the add/remove button that is located near the bottom of the box. If you do not have this button, click the change/remove button that is located near the bottom of the box.
- Follow any prompts that appear to complete the removal process of SpyBlast.

For computers with the operating system Windows XP in the default view, you will need to follow all of the above steps with the exception of click on settings. This particular phrase will not be present on your computer’s menu and therefore, you will navigate directly from start to control panel. All of the remaining steps are identical to the ones listed above.

It is advisable to reboot your computer, especially since SpyBlast had been installed with the capability of starting upon your computer’s boot up. Follow the above steps until you get to the list of installed programs in the add/remove programs window. If you do not see any sign of SpyBlast, then you have successfully removed the program.

If, unfortunately, the program is still listed, you can rerun the above set of instructions. However, it is more likely than not that you will need to take further measures to completely rid yourself of this annoying pest.

It is important to note that some adware, spyware, or Malware software applications do not come with uninstall instructions, and therefore, this method of manual removal may not work, especially for variants of these programs.
