Summary: BargainBuddy is a form of adware that can be installed on computers without the knowledge of the owners. The application is programmed to begin running at the start up of the computer. BargainBuddy monitors Internet activity and targets specific advertisements based upon browser habits.

Additionally, BargainBuddy can connect to the Internet to receive updates from its server. The updates involve components of the program itself as well as a list of advertisements. As long as the computer is running and has access to the Internet, BargainBuddy has the capacity to run as well.

BargainBuddy, also known as Cashback by BargainBuddy, displays pop up ads that offer the computer user a rebate on purchases of merchandise that is offered in the ads by participating merchants. The ads are relevant to the browsing activity of the computer user. EXact Advertising runs the entire program of BargainBuddy.

If BargainBuddy has been installed on your computer, you should notice a small icon for it in your computer’s system tray. Plus, the Navi Search page may appear if you search for a website that no longer exists.

All forms of adware and spyware have adverse effects on computers and their processing. One of the most apparent effects to be noticed is the slowing down of the computer. The computer will begin to work more sluggishly due to the fact that the adware is using up Internet bandwidth. Some of the more insidious and malicious spyware and adware programs can take up virtually all of your bandwidth, leaving you with little or nothing to work with for your processing activities on the Internet.

If adware or spyware has been installed on your computer, then your computer has experienced a breach in its security. All of your personal data and information can be at risk, depending upon the type of program that has been installed. The best course of action to take is to remove the spyware and/or adware as quickly and completely as possible.

Manual removal of BargainBuddy can be achieved. The first step you need to take is to uninstall Navisearch, BargainBuddy, and the Bullseye Network. The Bull's-eye Network is the network portion of the BargainBuddy software. To accomplish this you will need to open the add/remove program of your computer.

To remove the BargainBuddy Program manually carefully follow these instructions:

For Windows Me, NT, 95, 98, 2000, and XP in the classic view:

Click the start button. Locate and click settings.
Select control panel from the menu.
Double click to open the “Add/Remove Programs” icon in the control panel window.
Search for the BargainBuddy program among the entries in the list.
Click to select it.
Click on the button that will remove it, it will either be labeled “add/remove” or “change/remove.”
Follow each prompt that is given to remove BargainBuddy.
Now, reboot your computer to check if BargainBuddy is actually gone.
Open the Add/Remove Programs icon. Look to see if BargainBuddy is listed or if it has been removed from currently installed programs.
Next, if you have an anti-spyware application available, you should run it. If you do not, you might consider purchasing one.

If your operating system involves Windows XP in the default XP view, you will skip settings and go directly from start to control panel. The remaining removal steps will be identical to those listed above.
