Windows Installer
Basics
A windows installer is the file that you need to run
in order to use its software on your computer.
Once you double click the installer, a box usually
opens up and you follow the on-screen guide to
install the program on your computer.
In most cases, the box will first ask you to close
all programs before starting the setup. It will then
bring up a licensing agreement for you to accept or
deny.
If you choose to accept it, you can continue on with
the installation of the software. The final step is
for you to choose the destination folder of where
you would like to install the program on your
computer.
Once complete, the installer window will confirm
that the software is ready to operate on your PC.

Not only is a windows installer used to for the
installation process, but also for uninstalling. If you
decide you no longer want the software on your PC, you
can remove it by simply using the "uninstall" option of
the windows installer found under the start menu > all
programs > "program name" -> uninstall "program name".
